Silver Oak Estate masala chai — real spices blended into Silver Oak’s distinctively aromatic single-estate Nilgiris black tea, in the 500g format for households that want their morning masala chai to come from a named estate, not a commodity blend.
The Silver Oak estate’s lighter, more aromatic character creates a masala tea where individual spice notes are more distinct — you taste the cardamom, the ginger, and the cinnamon as separate notes in the first few seconds, before they blend into the warm masala finish. Different from the bolder Homewood Masala, where the spices merge into a unified robust chai.
- 🌶️ Real Multi-Spice Blend — Ginger, cardamom, clove, pepper, cinnamon. Not masala flavouring. Blended at the Nilgiris source factory with proportions calibrated for Silver Oak tea’s aromatic character.
- 🏔️ Silver Oak Estate Base — The aromatic, lighter character of Silver Oak tea lets individual spice notes breathe and develop in the cup.
- 📦 500g — Estate Quality at Household Scale — The premium estate masala chai in a size that makes daily use practical. Better value per cup than smaller packs.
- 🌿 Source Blended and Packed — Everything happens at the Nilgiris factory. Tea and spices, mixed and sealed at the source.
- 🎁 Premium Gift Choice — Estate masala chai at 500g is a thoughtful, generous gift for any serious chai household.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
How does Silver Oak Masala Tea compare to Homewood Masala Tea?
Silver Oak is lighter and more aromatic — the spice notes are individually distinguishable. Homewood is bolder and more unified — the spices and tea merge into a robust, full-bodied masala. Choose Silver Oak for a more refined, aromatic masala. Choose Homewood for maximum boldness.
Is 500g good for a single household?
For a household drinking 2–3 cups of masala chai daily, 500g lasts approximately 5–6 months. It is fresh-packed and stores well in an airtight container for 12–18 months.
Why Nilgiris Tea is Different
Why Nilgiris Tea is Different
The Nilgiris — India's Blue
Mountains — grows tea at 6,000 feet above sea level, where the combination of
cool temperatures (15–20°C year-round), two annual monsoons, and mineral-rich
volcanic soil creates growing conditions found nowhere else in India.
At this altitude, tea plants
grow more slowly. Slower growth concentrates the natural compounds —
polyphenols, catechins, aromatic oils — that give Nilgiris tea its
characteristic brightness, natural sweetness, and clean, clear liquor.
What makes OotyMade's tea range
unique is traceability. We source from named estates — Kannavarai, Homewood,
Darmona, Homedale, Silver Oak — so you know exactly which garden your tea comes
from. No anonymous blends. No imported material. Just the Blue Mountains.
All teas are packed fresh at source and dispatched within 48 hours of
your order.

SHELF LIFE: 12–18 months from
packing date when stored correctly.
All tea is packed fresh at
source and vacuum-sealed or airtight-sealed before dispatch.
STORAGE: Store in an airtight
container in a cool, dry place away from:
— Direct sunlight (degrades
chlorophyll and antioxidants)
— Moisture (causes mold and
off-flavors)
— Strong odours (tea absorbs
surrounding aromas rapidly)
— Heat above 30 degrees Celsius
BEST PRACTICE: Transfer to a
ceramic or glass airtight container on receipt.
A dedicated tea tin stored in a
kitchen cabinet is ideal.
SIGNS OF FRESHNESS: Fresh Nilgiris
tea has a bright, clean aroma on opening.
If the aroma has faded
significantly, the tea is past its prime — though still safe to consume.
