Real dried ginger blended into Silver Oak Estate single-estate Nilgiris black tea — the combination that South India’s kitchens have trusted for immunity and warmth for generations, now in a 500g estate-quality format.
Ginger tea at this quality level is not the same as supermarket adrak chai. The Silver Oak estate base brings brightness and natural sweetness to complement the ginger’s sharpness — the result is a warming, lively cup that is as therapeutically purposeful as it is genuinely delicious.
- 🌱 Real Dried Ginger — Not Ginger Flavouring — Ground dry ginger blended at the Nilgiris factory. The active compounds (gingerols and shogaols) are fully present — not a flavoured tea but a functional blend.
- 🏔️ Silver Oak Estate Black Tea Base — The aromatic brightness of Silver Oak tea complements ginger’s sharpness without either overpowering the other.
- 💪 Immunity, Digestion and Cold Relief — Gingerols and shogaols in real ginger have documented anti-inflammatory, digestive, and antiviral properties. This is the cup that works on the mornings when your body needs it most.
- 🌡️ Cold and Monsoon Season Essential — The warming compound in ginger activates within minutes. The combination with Nilgiris black tea’s theaflavins creates a genuinely fortifying cup.
- 📦 500g — Estate Ginger Chai at Daily-Use Scale — Premium ginger chai in a size designed for households that drink it regularly.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
How strong is the ginger flavour?
Balanced — present and warming without being harsh or dominating. The Silver Oak tea’s brightness softens the ginger edge into a pleasant, warming combination. If you prefer stronger ginger, add a fresh ginger slice while brewing.
Is this good for colds and immunity?
Yes — the combination of ginger’s gingerols (anti-inflammatory, antiviral) and Nilgiris black tea’s polyphenols creates one of the most functional daily-use chai blends available. Regular consumption supports immunity meaningfully.
How is Silver Oak Ginger Tea different from the generic Nilgiris Ginger Tea?
Different base. Silver Oak estate CTC has its own aromatic character that makes the ginger notes more vivid and the cup more complex than the generic Nilgiris blended base.
Why Nilgiris Tea is Different
Why Nilgiris Tea is Different
The Nilgiris — India's Blue
Mountains — grows tea at 6,000 feet above sea level, where the combination of
cool temperatures (15–20°C year-round), two annual monsoons, and mineral-rich
volcanic soil creates growing conditions found nowhere else in India.
At this altitude, tea plants
grow more slowly. Slower growth concentrates the natural compounds —
polyphenols, catechins, aromatic oils — that give Nilgiris tea its
characteristic brightness, natural sweetness, and clean, clear liquor.
What makes OotyMade's tea range
unique is traceability. We source from named estates — Kannavarai, Homewood,
Darmona, Homedale, Silver Oak — so you know exactly which garden your tea comes
from. No anonymous blends. No imported material. Just the Blue Mountains.
All teas are packed fresh at source and dispatched within 48 hours of
your order.

SHELF LIFE: 12–18 months from
packing date when stored correctly.
All tea is packed fresh at
source and vacuum-sealed or airtight-sealed before dispatch.
STORAGE: Store in an airtight
container in a cool, dry place away from:
— Direct sunlight (degrades
chlorophyll and antioxidants)
— Moisture (causes mold and
off-flavors)
— Strong odours (tea absorbs
surrounding aromas rapidly)
— Heat above 30 degrees Celsius
BEST PRACTICE: Transfer to a
ceramic or glass airtight container on receipt.
A dedicated tea tin stored in a
kitchen cabinet is ideal.
SIGNS OF FRESHNESS: Fresh Nilgiris
tea has a bright, clean aroma on opening.
If the aroma has faded
significantly, the tea is past its prime — though still safe to consume.
