Silver Oak Estate’s aromatic, clean-liquor character makes it the ideal base for chocolate tea — the lightness of the Silver Oak tea allows the natural cocoa notes to come through cleanly rather than fighting with a bold, heavy tea base. Where the Homewood Chocolate Tea is rich and robust, Silver Oak Chocolate Tea is aromatic and refined — the same two Ooty signatures (tea and chocolate) in a different register.
At 500g, this is the large-format option for households that have discovered Ooty chocolate tea and want to make it their daily cup.
- 🍫 Natural Cocoa Meets Silver Oak Aromatics — The lightness of Silver Oak estate tea lets the cocoa character develop fully. Aromatic, warm, distinctively Ooty.
- 🏔️ Silver Oak Estate Base — Nilgiris Single Estate — Named estate origin, high altitude, aromatic character that complements rather than masks the cocoa notes.
- ✨ Ooty in a Cup — The two things Ooty is most famous for — tea and chocolate — in a single blend, from the same mountain ecosystem.
- 📦 500g — Daily Cup Format — For households that have found their signature chai. The large format for committed drinkers.
- 🎁 The Most Distinctive Ooty Gift — There is nothing else quite like Ooty chocolate tea. The 500g format makes a generous, unforgettable gift.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
How is Silver Oak Chocolate Tea different from Homewood Chocolate Tea?
The estate base is different. Silver Oak is lighter and more aromatic — the chocolate character comes through cleanly. Homewood is bolder and more robust — the chocolate blends with a stronger tea body. Both are excellent; Silver Oak is the choice for a more aromatic, refined cup.
Does it taste sweet?
The tea itself has no added sugar. The cocoa adds a natural earthiness and warmth rather than sweetness. Add sugar to taste when brewing.
Why Nilgiris Tea is Different
Why Nilgiris Tea is Different
The Nilgiris — India's Blue
Mountains — grows tea at 6,000 feet above sea level, where the combination of
cool temperatures (15–20°C year-round), two annual monsoons, and mineral-rich
volcanic soil creates growing conditions found nowhere else in India.
At this altitude, tea plants
grow more slowly. Slower growth concentrates the natural compounds —
polyphenols, catechins, aromatic oils — that give Nilgiris tea its
characteristic brightness, natural sweetness, and clean, clear liquor.
What makes OotyMade's tea range
unique is traceability. We source from named estates — Kannavarai, Homewood,
Darmona, Homedale, Silver Oak — so you know exactly which garden your tea comes
from. No anonymous blends. No imported material. Just the Blue Mountains.
All teas are packed fresh at source and dispatched within 48 hours of
your order.

Life
SHELF LIFE: 12–18 months from
packing date when stored correctly.
All tea is packed fresh at
source and vacuum-sealed or airtight-sealed before dispatch.
STORAGE: Store in an airtight
container in a cool, dry place away from:
— Direct sunlight (degrades
chlorophyll and antioxidants)
— Moisture (causes mold and
off-flavors)
— Strong odours (tea absorbs
surrounding aromas rapidly)
— Heat above 30 degrees Celsius
BEST PRACTICE: Transfer to a
ceramic or glass airtight container on receipt.
A dedicated tea tin stored in a
kitchen cabinet is ideal.
SIGNS OF FRESHNESS: Fresh Nilgiris
tea has a bright, clean aroma on opening.
If the aroma has faded
significantly, the tea is past its prime — though still safe to consume.
